Gary Lane Lee

Mr. Gary Lane Lee, age 67 of Forsyth, formerly of Hampton passed away September 6, 2022. Gary was retired from the US Navy with 25 years of service and from the Clayton County Fire Department with 22 years of service. He was a faithful member of Tara Baptist Church. His dream was to retire and move to the beach and have his own charter boat. He loved singing so much that he purchased karaoke equipment so he could share his dream with others. Gray loved to play games and watch westerns. He was a wonderful husband a faithful friend and his grandchildren were the light of his life. Clayton County Special Needs Department was honored that Gary played Santa Claus for over 20 years for not only their organization but from many other charity events. He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and he loved the Georgia Bulldogs, but most of all he loved Jesus. He was preceded in death by his parents: Watson B. & Inez B. Lee; son: Byron and brother-in-law: Doc Kinney. He is survived by his loving wife: Kathrine; Son: Kerry (Jennifer) Osborne of Forsyth; brothers: Steve (Patty) Lee; Rev. Butch(Cindy) Lee; Sisters: Shirley Kinney, Beverley Martin and Carol Lee Tice; brother-in-law: Sidney Beck; sister-in-law: Betty Ann Boatright; beloved grandchildren: Gavin "Scooter" and Mallie "Toot-Toot"; nieces and nephews: Shana (Chris), Lisa (Keith), Darrell, Stephanie (Glen), Stacie (Darius), Cappi (Chris), Bethany (Andy), Athen (Lindsay), Christy, Michael (Karie), Allen (Cynthia) and Stephen (Callie); many great and great great nieces and nephews and extended family. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Tara Baptist Church with Pastor Ron Little, "Rev. Ike" Butch Lee and Mr. Fred Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park in Jonesboro. The family will receive friends from 5-7:30 PM, Friday, September 9th, 2022 at the funeral home and also 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
